Sometimeとsomedayの違いはあるのですか？　両方「いつか」ですよね？

 

Sometimeとsomedayに違いはあります。

 

Sometimeは「未来または過去の不定の時」を表わします。

 

Sometimeの意味は、at a time in the future or the past which is not known or stated.

Example: We received the package sometime last week.

 

Somedayは「将来のある不特定の時」を表わします。

 

Somedayの意味は、 at some time in the future which is not yet known or stated.

Example: He keeps thinking that he’ll be successful someday without working hard.

ですから、somedayは未来についてのみです。

 

 

I received the email someday last week. とは使いません。

 

正しいのは、I received the email sometime last week.　ですね。

 

 

それと、sometimeとsomedayの違いは時間の単位です。

 

Sometimeはtimeの単位で「ある時」。

 

Somedayはdayの単位で「ある日」。

 

 
Would you like to schedule an appointment for sometime in the afternoon?　は正しい使い方。

Would you like to schedule an appointment for someday in the afternoon?　は間違っています。
