Funny businessは３つの意味があります。

 

１つの意味は、

“improper or unethical conduct, as deception or trickery”

“dishonest or illegal activities”

です。

 

訳すと、

「いかがわしい行動」
「いんちき」

ですね。

 

例えば、

The judge put everyone on notice that there would be no funny business in his courtroom.
 

 

他の意味は、

“foolish behavior; shenanigans”です。

 

訳すと、

「愚かな行動」

「馬鹿な振る舞い」です。

 

例えば、

The TV program was full of funny business, but it wasn’t particularly funny.

 

３つ目の意味は、

”lecherous behavior”
“amorous behavior”です。

 

例えば、

The father warned his teenage daughter’s boyfriend, “Bring her home by 9.   And no funny business!”
