Leapedとleaptの違いはスペリングだけです。両方使えます。

 

 

例えば、

 

The cat leaped into the bed.

The cat leapt into the bed.

 

Tom has leaped over his rival Sam.

Tom has leapt over his rival Sam.

 

因に、”lept”はleaptの間違ってるスペリングです。

 

 

１００年程前までは、leapedの方がよく使われていたらしいです。

近年はleaptの方がイギリス英語ではもっと使われています。

 

アメリカ英語では、現在両方とも同じくらい使われています。

下記はStackExchangeのModerator NOHATのグラフです。このグラフは、１００年前のアメリカ英語では、leapedの方が完全にleaptよりポプュラーだった事を表わしています。
