Tie upとは、色々な意味がありますが、よく使われる表現が、

I am tied up at work.

とか

Mr. Smith is tied up at the moment and can’t see you.

 



 

この表現、　be動詞＋tie/tied upは、

“busy; kept busy; kept occupied, engaged, actively or fully engaged or occupied… etc.”

 

「忙しい、手を離せない」等の意味でビジネス英会話でよく使われます。

 
 

 
 

ビジネスで他の意味で使うのは、

“to invest or place (money) in such a way as to render unavailable for other use.”

資本を投資していて、他に運用出来ない事。

 

例えば、

Most of the firm’s assets are tied up in real estate right now.
